As you would be aware we applied for funding under the Federal Government's "Building an Education Revolution" (BER)
There are two parts to the program. One being the National Schools Pride (NSP) section that allowed us to nominate maintenance items up to $150 000.
The other section is the "Primary Schools for the 21st Century Program" (P21) for new buildings.
I am pleased to inform the community that, thanks to the quality of our submission and the input of the P & C we have been allocated our full entitlement of $150 000 for maintenance work under the NSP section.
Approximately half of this funding will be spent immediately on a range of basic maintenance items – these include painting, replacing doors and cupboards, concrete shaving and repairs to broken roofs. The remainder of the money will be spent on other nominated projects that are currently being scoped and costed. I will inform the community of the other projects once final approval is received.
We are still waiting to hear about our nominations under the P21 section.
