What a wonderful season for Brisbania in softball!
The boys have scaled new heights in being the Central Coast Champions and created softball history in the process, for our school. As the champion school they met Burraneer Bay last Wednesday and were defeated 10 to 5 in a match displaying both sportsmanship and good humour.
The boys faced a state pitcher but Kurt, Blake, Michael, Josh and Lachlan all managed to cross home plate to score. No mean feat! The game was punctuated with brilliant catches on the field. An absolute highlight was Ryan catching two successive outs on 2nd plate.
The team line-up of Robert, Nathan, Kurt, Lindsay, Ryan, Michael, Nicholas, Josh, Blake, Jakk, Adam and Lachlan should be very proud of their achievements. We are certainly very proud of them.
As for all the parents who have driven the boys forwards and backwards and supported their sons' campaign, thank you.
Special mention must go to Jim Reardon for his coaching, time and commitment to the boys.Several team members now play baseball thanks to his encouragement.
Kim Reardon has scored every game since the start of the season in some adverse circumstances and Rose Smith's enthusiastic drive during and innovative ideas truly typify the incredible support that underlies the boys' success. What a year!
